Honda Motor Co. (NYSE:HMC): Honda will be issuing a recall for about 405,400 vehicles in the United States, Canada, Japan, and Australia, including the Odyssey minivan, over a technical glitch in the airbag system. A computer chip in the airbag control unit could malfunction when it receives electrical interference from other parts in the car, potentially deploying inadvertently, a Honda spokesman said. No crashes have been reported related to this glitch, but several cases of injuries such as abrasions on the hand and fingers have been reported, the company noted.

Oracle Corp. (NYSE:ORCL): Oracle has reported EPS of $0.59, beating estimates by $0.03, while revenue of $8.37 billion just missed by $0.11 billion. Software license and cloud subscription revenue rose 4 percent over last year, besting the growth rate from the fourth quarter’s disappointing 1 percent. However, hardware product sales fell 14 percent over last year to $669 million, missing a guidance range of -6 percent to 2 percent while 60 percent of engineered system sales growth couldn’t offset the plunging SPARC and UNIX server sales.

Groupon Inc. (NASDAQ:GRPN):  Groupon announced Wednesday that it has purchased SideTour, the owner of a marketplace for booking and selling access to local activities and events, though further terms are undisclosed. Groupon says that SideTour ”currently offers more than 500 public and private events with more than 400 hosts using the platform,” while Seeking Alpha notes that its events tend to be high-scale, with an average size of 12 attendees and the list of hosts including “chefs, artists, Olympic medalists, casting directors, and sommeliers.”

Dish Network (NASDAQ:DISH): A New York judge has ruled against a request by ABC for a preliminary injunction of Dish Network’s Hopper, the program that allows users to skip ads when playing back recorded content. Dish has been the subject of numerous lawsuits for its Hopper system as media companies that allege it breaches the retransmission consent agreements that the broadcasters have with Dish.

EBay (NASDAQ:EBAY): EBay has put its support behind the House Judiciary Committee, which thinks it should guide the creation of a national online sales tax law where Internet companies shouldn’t face “new or discriminatory taxes not faced in the offline world,” and online and offline retailers should be “on equal footing.” Not surprisingly, Amazon.com is also in support of the proposal. EBay says that it’s “very encouraged” by the move and has been opposed to national tax law proposals in the past.
